Well before 2019 I would have said my favorite brand was Sketchers as they are normally very comfortable, durable and affordable. I remember even telling people that I had trouble finding a more comfortable shoe. Although after 2019 and trying several new brands this has changed. Plus I also found some not so comfortable sketchers to my surprise. The sketchers that are the after burn with out the shoe laces seem to have some discomfort but the after burn with shoelaces which are my favorite are still fine. They just do something different with the shoelace free ones. I bought 2 just to see if maybe I got a defective pair too and same with both. Also a bit of history and you can skip this paragraph if you want but I feel it may add some reasoning into the next part at least I think it will. Anyway before 2019 I hardly even thought about brands to be honest but yes I did and do like sketchers for the reasons I mentioned above but honestly brand didn't really come into play when buying shoes. If I go back to when I was in school over 20 years ago I do not remember brands being a think for anyone. Maybe brands were mentioned here and there but it didn't make much difference. It was all about the look or style that was currently popular not brands. At least that is what I remember growing up. I also remember going to stores like pay-less, I have a lot of memories of buying shoes at pay-less. For some reason that is the store I have most memories of when it comes to shoes. I actually have trouble thinking of any other place we got shoes. It could have been Walmart or target or even sears but I have different memories with those and they do not have much connection to shoes. So any way when I got out of school in 1999 I still bought at pay-less but I do kind of remember just going to Walmart as well at that point. However some time in 2003 or 2004 I found an online store, do not recall which one but I was not sure what size I was as buying them in the store the sizes were all over the place depending on style or brand. So I guessed using the last size I recalled buying from wall-mart which was size 12. I bought a brand called Propet. which was the first time I heard of that brand. They looked really nice though. When I got them they were very big but I kept them any way as they still looked nice. After a year or 2 maybe even 3 I went back on that online store and went to order another pair. This time it was the same propet brand but different style and size 11 this time. They were too small and hurt my feet. I tried 2 of them and same issue. I was like ok that didn't work lets try a different brand. So this time I went with 11s and this time Merrell brand. I loved them and they fit fine. I then pretty much stuck to size 11. I still do but some times I even go to size 10.5. I found if I get either 10.5 or 11s they should fit fine. It is rare to go to size 10 however according to the bannock device my shoe size should be 10. I can only think of 1 or 2 brands were a size 10 would fit and that is handpoint and rockrooster. All other brands I have to go with 10.5 of 11s. Anyway after the Merrell needed to be replaced I went with sketchers and that is when I feel in love with how comfortable they were and besizes for buying a bates in 2011 /2012 I pretty much stuck with sketchers until 2019. Well I guess I did also buy an indestructible shoe some time in those years as well. In 2019 I bought a pair of red wings to replace the bates that I had for many years, not sure the total amount of years but more than 5 for sure. And after buying those I started getting ads for lots of shoe brands I had not even heard of like vans or converse and I even started seeing youtube videos related to shoes. I even found cobblers and a channel called rose anvil. Because of this I started trying a lot of brands I had never heard of or tried. So now after trying so many new brands I do not know if I have a favorite. It could be Jim green, red wing, Georgia boots, Splay, Old mulla, Thursday, 8000 kicks, Zeba, Kiziks, new balance, scechers, walk hero, asics, hisea, bonanza, gravel gear, red back xero, carolina boots, keen, dr comfort, all bird, rock rooster, silver bull usa, the new die hard made by Hoss footwear not the ones made by handpoint All though the handpoint are not that bad(I mean as bad as say kingshow) just the Hoss ones are far far better quality and the hoss version are not made in china. So I do not have a favorite brand but those are the brands I currently and would consider each one one of my favorites so again not just one favorite. I may like some of these more than others. If I were to rank them I would put it like this which may change: Splay Jim Green xero shoes red wing Georgia boots old mulla Thursday boots red back silver bull usa hoss made diehard boots kiziks keen zeba rockrooster hisea boots bonanza Carolina boots new balance dr comfort asics 8000 kicks walk hero all bird gravel gear skechers |
