This is an old show from the late 80s and early 90s. The show was on when I was a child. It was one of those shows that my family liked but I didn't. There was a reason I didn't like it and I remember mentioning it in a few comments on youtube. Although people told me that is not possible or a tv show can not have that kind of effect on you, things like that. So let me get into it. The show it self made men look horrible and had horrible lives. It also made going to work like prison or a living nightmare. However women were different and had much better lives. Like Peggy she was able to stay at home and watch tv and eat bonbons all day. She had like a lazy life and didn't have to do anything and treating her husband like a wallet. Which reminds me of a video I saw recently that was showing tiktok videos and making responces to them. In one of the tiktok videos he was responding to it had a lady that was getting ready for the day and she grabbed her boyfriend or husband and called him her wallet. This is how I saw the way Peggy treated Al in this show. Actually it was the way almost all women in the show treated men. There was also bud Bundy from the show. Even though he was very different from my self I felt like he could represent me or any teenage boy. He was seen as a horrible person through out the show. His sister who was basically the stupidest person in the show was still better than the men in the show. Like for example there was an episode that had Al and the neighbor putting tother a tool bench or something and her comes kelly and puts it together and sets it up with little to no effort. Anyway I know these dumb thing were to come off as comedy but as a child I felt this was male shaming. Like the fat shaming that also goes on in the show but the male shaming felt a lot worse. It gave me the feeling of being a shamed just because I am male. The whole show did that. I do not remember and episode that didn't do that. Even when I see the show today when I am at my parents house as my dad some times watches it I get the same feeling. It is odd because I know others that love the show and most are men. However I can not lie and see I didn't feel ashamed of being male when I watch that show. Yet people tell me a show can not effect you that way and this is just a comedy. I honestly thing that anything you watch can have an effect on you even if you do not think it does. Also I should mention something there is a style of shoe called 5 finger shoes that remind me of this tv show. It was the episode that had the God's shoes it it. So every time I see 5 finger shoes I am reminded of this tv show. I will usually comment about this show on videos that talk about 5 finger shoes. Although I do not always mention how the show made me feel. Below are some clips I found from the show. This first one is the one I mentioned above about Kelly showing that she is smarter than the males in the show. Which is one of the ones that makes me feel the most shame of being male.
